YLP Spelling BEE

    Young Leaner Program (YLP) of Cambodia-ASEAN International School is uniquely designed for students aged from 6 to 12. The program is achieved by relating their English language learning to broader educational goals with direct connections to other content-based subjects such as natural science and social science. YLP provides students with interactive and investigative learning classroom, and hand-on experiences through scientific and up-to-date lessons and relevant classroom activities.

    The program also engages children in a variety of fun learning experiences using a wide range of English language skills through many creative, educational and fun activities and themes. YLP recently organized a “Spelling Bee” competition for young learners with the aim of providing students an opportunity and a platform to showcase their vocabulary and spelling skills. On May 10, 2018, YLP organized a “Spelling Bee” competition aiming at offering a challenging platform for students to showcase their vocabulary remembering capacity and spelling skills.

    Eng Youkin, 10-year-old, earned his championship after three intensive rounds of challenging his counterparts. Before the competition started, he appears to very confident which reflects his readiness and well-taught in classes. The first runner-up was 8-year-old, Va Mongkul Panha, who amazed the judges and audiences with his spelling skills. “Parallelogram” he spoke into the microphone with that confidence “I spell, P-A-R-A-L-L-E-L-O-G-R-A-M.” The second runner-up of CAM-ASEAN Spelling Bee was 11-year-old ,Faisal Zarfrul, who credits his achievement to a love of books and his good memorizing skills.
